Capillary Vessel (Varicosity) Treatment
Capillary vessel is a common problem which affects millions of people all over the world. The complaint of capillary vessel is seen in 15% of the society. Even in children, 2% capillary complaints are observed. It usually occurs in light-skinned person. Capillary vessel complaints may occur as an increase in venule of 0.1-1 mm diameter. Sometimes, it can be seen as capillary dilatation in the appearance of mole.
Capillary vessel complaints may occur depending on actinic damage, metabolic and rheumatic diseases, rosacea, excessive oestrogens, alcohol, chronic cortisone use trauma or genetic disease.
Capillary vessel treatment is successfully performed with lasers today. Long pulsed Nd:YAG laser 1064 nm which we use in our centres is used successfully in the treatment.
The number of sessions and their results of those who have capillary vessel treatment may vary depending on type, thickness, location and reason of the capillary vessel. In the similar capillary vessel treatment which is called spider angio gives result in 1-2 sessions immediately. However, capillary vessel treatment seen commonly on the face should be performed at least 4-6 sessions. The session intervals of the capillary vessel treatment on the face should at least 3 weeks. Results of the treatment can be seen after the 2nd or 3rd session well. The thin capillary vessel near the nose should be expected to become less, not to disappear. The thick vessels easily disappear. Capillary vessels above the nose can be affected by the laser easily but it takes long sessions to disappear them.
Those who have capillary vessel treatment should use sunscreen cream after the process and continuously. Apart from using sunscreen cream, the person should not stay under the sun during the noon hours when the sun is straight in the summer and use a hat and stay in the shade.
